Signs your makeup has expired

1. If your mascara or foundation has become lumpy there is a good chance that they have expired. At the least they have passed up their ability to be useful. Lumpy or clumpy makeup will apply in an un-uniform manner. Mascara can be extremely dangerous if obsolete passed its expiration date. Expired makeup can cause infections and irritations around the eyes and lips around the application points.

2. Lip gloss, and lipstick may gain a foul smell once it has expired. If your lip gloss or lipstick is more than 3 months old you need to be careful. These 2 products are conventional on some of the germ infested places on the body and therefore need to be changed frequently. If your makeup expiration date has passed on these products you need to get sure and replace them because they can become toxic and make you very sick.

3. Does your makeup study passe or has it changed its appearance? This can often occur when makeup goes through varying heat cycles. Perhaps you leave your purse in the car during a deep freeze or a hot summer day. These temperatures can mercurial extinguish your makeup. If your makeup looks old just dispose of it.

4. Your makeup expiration date may have already advance and gone if your makeup no longer applies to your face the way that it used to. Old makeup will clump on the applicator and apply unevenly on the face. If your makeup has changed in the way it looks when it is applied then there is a good chance your makeup has expired. Foundation that appears powdery and allows your face to shine after only a few minutes needs to be destroyed.

5. If your makeup expiration date is near your makeup will appear dry, cracked, powdery. Do not try to revitalize old makeup as you can ruin the makeup. Makeup that has passed its prime should be thrown away immediately.

Most women I know have a drawer full of old makeup and just can't find it within themselves to throw it away. Using cosmetics past their prime can cause infections, rashes, and other skin irritations. If your makeup expiration date has come and passed the best thing you can do is throw your makeup away and go buy some new, fresh and dated makeup. Happy shopping.

Look #1: Natural

I'd like to think of this look as beachy. It's very earthy and clean and goes well with loose waves.

1. Apply foundation as normal but apply the loose powder sparingly. It will make you look "too done."

2. Apply one coat of brown mascara to top lashes. Stay away from those bottom lashes! If you put mascara on them, they'll appear bold and unnatural. You may curl the top lashes if you feel your eyes seem too naked. Sweep a light olive green eyeshadow on you lids and under the bottom lashes, if desired.

3. Unexcited feeling naked? Draw a very thin line of brown eyeliner on your top lash bed. Get as close as possible to the bed. For a smoky study, rub brown shadow along the liner.

4. Coat your lips with a thick lip balm and dab sparkly gold eyeshadow on them. This will give you slight shimmer and a pretty look at the same time.

Look #2: Sophisticated

If you're a natural type of girl, this bold and sharp look will be quite the experience!

1. Apply foundation as usual and top with a lighter shade of loose powder for a unusual, smooth look.

2. Put on 3 coats of black mascara and curl the lashes. Apply a silvery gray eyeshadow from your lid to your brow bone.

3. Line the inner corner of your eyes only with dismal eyeliner. It'll make your eyes more edgy.

4. Apply a warm, red lipstick and a distinct gloss, if desired.

Look #3: Chic

Alas, my last look, but it certainly is a boho-like one!

1. Set on 2 coats of mascara and 1 coat on the bottom lashes. Sweep a matte gray shadow over the lids.

2. With a black Kohl pencil, gently sweep top lashes and smudge with a q-tip. If desired, do the same with bottom lashes but compose it lighter by using a gray Kohl.

3. Apply a nude gloss and there you go!

Face:
Go a little heavier on the cover-up and foundation. This may seem contradictory to lightness of the look but pictures are sure to be taken and skin flaws should be masked. It will not be hot enough out to worry about cosmetics running and, since most dances are held into the night, a little heavier coverage will not be viewed as too much. Just be sure to choose products that are meant for your skin tone, such as those that are oil free to prevent breakouts or meant for sensitive faces.

Sweep on a small amount of blush, just enough to give yourself a rosy glow. Teens should decide a makeup product that mimics your skin tone when you blush naturally or choose a product that adjusts itself to your skin tone.

Eyes:
For a original and natural look with just a hint of color for the spring dance, choose an eyeshadow trio that contains three shades stop to your natural skin color. Sweep the lightest over your entire lid from lash line to eyebrow. Use a smaller makeup brush to sweep the medium shade in the crease of your eye outward and under your bottom eyelid, just under the lash line. Apply the darkest shade just at the top lash line, creating a small shaded line.

Apply an eyeliner in the color of your dress. Follow the same line as your darkest eyeshadow on your top lid and the medium one on your bottom lid, creating a thin line right at your lashes. Finish it off with a couple coats of mascara.

For a more dramatic look, choose an eyeshadow trio in the shade of your dress. Apply it the same way as above. Apply the eyeliner in the darkest version of the hue or in a black before finishing it off with a couple coats of mascara.

Lips:
Apply a lip gloss that gives just a hint of color to your lips along with shine. Anything heavier will take away from the fresh look. (Even if you choose to go the more dramatic route, having your eyes done up and then doing up your lips will be too much.)

Additional Teen Makeup Tips for the Spring Dance:
Add a little glitter, either in a clear form or in the shade of your dress, just on the outside of your eyes. You can also apply a little to your cheek bones and/or shoulders.

Be prepared for lots of black eye liner, cat eyes are back if you dare. The darker the eyes, the better for the top Fall makeup looks.

Black Mascara

Going along with the makeup look of dark eyes is black mascara. One of my favorite brands of mascara is Lash Blast by Revlon which can be purchased for under $10 at drugstores or grocery stores. The Lash Blast gives the eyelashes a really full, deep sad look. My eyelashes are fairly thin but when I use Lash Blast mascara in black, it makes my eyes pop.

False Eye Lashes

If you have not used fake eyelashes in the past, now may be the time to learn how to use false eyelashes. To obtain the Fall 2009 makeup looks, false eye lashes can really help to obtain the dramatic effect of the dark, deep eyes. I have found really nice false eye lashes at the local drugstore near my home and the costs have been under $5 for a set of false eyelashes.

Metallics

The metallics are also big for the makeup looks for Fall 2009, the deep greys and industrial type colors work well this Fall makeup season.

Sequins and Gems

Sequins and gems are another Fall makeup study, this is a quite daring look and would most likely be best for a nightclub type look. Attaching tiny sequins to the eyelash line is a huge hit but it takes lots of practice and patient to apply the product properly. The look of sparkly eyes is quite shapely when done properly.

Emphasize an Area

Make obvious to emphasize honest one area of the face, if you are going plucky on the eyes invent sure to go subtle on the lips and the other way around, if you are going bold on the lips make sure to go subtle on the eyes.

The Fall makeup looks are bold and bold, the Descend 2009 season is a grand to time to take a little risk with makeup and be a little more daring than usual. It is important to remember to keep makeup in balance and not too go overboard in multiple areas of the face, catch one location of the face and push the limits in the one particular area if you choose.

Foundation, Bronzer and Blush

Consume your normal foundation for your graduation day makeup; do not make the mistake of trying to add an instant tan by upping your coverage a shade. The better way to add a slight glow to your skin is through the use of a powdered bronzer. When you apply the bronzer, take some of the powder on your brush and shake the excess back into your powder basin or on to a tissue. After the loose particles have been removed, apply bronzer to your forehead, nose and upper cheeks before brushing the trace amounts remaining over the rest of your face. After the bronzer, you should not require a blush, but one can be used if you desire. Apply a very minimal shade to accentuate your cheekbones; don't try to sculpt a new set.

Eye Makeup

Use mascara that you know will steal and separate your lashes with one application. The perfect product varies from woman to woman, so use the brand that gives you the best results. If you choose not to wear eye shadow, it is best to exhaust only one coat of mascara to help possess a natural look.

Eye shadow and eyeliner should be worn minimally. Stick with neutral eye shadows in shades of light brown, coral and beige, and apply them strategically to enhance the eyes without overwhelming. Think lining your eye with your darker eye shadow instead of applying eyeliner. Also, unless you have a deeper complexion, avoid using a deep brown or gloomy eyeliner as these are typically quite conspicuous. Instead, opt for a cocoa or olive shade that will bring out your eyes without overwhelming them.

Lipstick

When it comes to lipstick, a lot will depend on your cap and gown colors. For instance, pairing red lips with a red cap and gown could raze up looking slightly clownish, while the same lips would look stunning on a girl with school colors such as black, hunter green or royal blue. No matter what your cap and gown color, lipstick shades such as coral and salmon easily coordinate with numerous looks. If you are completely unsure about lipstick and uncomfortable with the idea of using it for graduation, apply a clear gloss to accent the lips and forgo the color altogether.

Planning out your graduation makeup ahead of time and then having a few practice makeup sessions prior to your actual ceremony can ensure you look great from the start of your graduation day to the final march.
